? Is it not clear that I don't rely on the beliefs and opinions of the people I know?

D12 has not "easily rebutted" my questions about him dying on the cross. He has just regurgitated stock answers without doing any research into the issue.

Bible prophecies? How do we know that they have been fulfilled? Because the bible says so? Another circular argument. Here's one for you. Why hasn't the prophecy about god clearing the promised land of the Jebuzzites, Amorites, Lycratites etc. ready for Israel to settle been fulfilled? If it had been, we wouldn't have the ME problems we now have.

I dunno. I suppose there could still have been somewhere else that the soul goes to after its time on earth. But as there is a God, then that's not relevant.

The Exodus didn't happen. Historically and archaeologically it is a complete non-starter. How does studying the bible illuminate any metaphor? Metaphors are human interpretations.

The diet is intriguing. Those foods don't seem to cause any problems today. Perhaps the problems have been selectively bred out. Although we know that plenty of people did eat pork in Israel back then. No indication whether they ate shellfish, shark or horse, though.

Again, trying to find metaphors in Barrabas' release is pointless. If you truly believe the bible is the word of god, then trying to work out WHY a particular thing happened is like trying to read god's mind. Good luck with that!
