I wasn't giving an opinion on the state of the market actually . I was just trying to point out the gist of the article .
As to housing affordability , I've always thought city house prices were high . Friends of mine were buying in Melbourne 25 years ago and they struggled back then. It seems that the struggle for city fhb hasn't changed.
As to the stats ( love a good stat ) , I wonder whether that particular measure in the article is appropriate now ? Dual incomes , different family structures , increased services etc has significantly changed how we live compared to 1967 . Probably should start a thread just on that subject .
Thanks for posting the Guardian link . I found the article pretty interesting.
