Jamieparklondon...your post is a little off the mark to say the least.
Some rebuttle on your points:
1. The problems from the baggage of the past (e.g. BMG) is due to those assets being duds. As with any company that has been through a rough patch, value is restored when company performance improves and continues (i.e. it is sustainable). No amount of PR spin would restore value - it goes hand in hand with company performance. The market is way too savvy in detecting spin - which it views very negatively. It only leads in a longer path back to restoring market credibility.
2. The Company profile showing Bruce Clement as the CEO is clearly dated 2008
3. Any one who knows anything about continuous disclosure would know that you are required to update the market WHEN THERE ARE MATERIAL DEVELOPMENTS. So we should be assuming that there's nothing to report. Also - being shortlisted is exactly that - it doesn't mean you've secured anything.
4. Your comment on 'true market value being a long term proposition by participating in the popularity stakes' is especially perplexing, but I couldn't be bothered ripping to shreds that statement. Remember ABC Learning? It was really popular until it imploded.
Having worked in Investor Relations and Coporate Affairs for 10 years - I can guarantee that any company with a genuine intent to grow is VERY aware of announcing good news - but they need to balance that with fact, materiality and substance.
