Hi CDU'ers,

Senator John Williams has written back as follows in response to my correspondence to him concerning CuDeco(CDU) trading,on the ASX and requesting a Government Enquiry. An opportunity now exists for this avenue to be explored and examined. I have forwarded a lenghy submission and I will post a copy of the accompying letter written to Senator Williams. I only posted my submission on the 28th July, 2013, so this correspondence has crossed the undermentioned letter.

Thank you for your letter(13th June, 2013) and documents concerning your concerns with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s handling of your request for an audit and inspection of CDU Securities.

As you are aware, submissions are now being taken for the Senate Economic References committee inquiry into the performance of ASIC. I have included the terms of reference and contact details on the following page and recommend that if you feel your matter falls within those terms of reference that you consider lodging a submission.

Terms of Reference

The performance of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission(ASIC), with particular reference to:


(a) ASIC’s enabling leglislation, and whether there are any
barriers preventing ASIC from fulfilling its leglislative
responsibilities and obligations;

(b) the accountability framework to which ASIC is subject, and whether this needs to be strengthened;

(c) the workings of ASIC’s collaboration, and working relationships, with other regulators and law enforcement bodies;

(d) ASIC’s complaints management policies and practices;

(e) the protections afforded by ASIC to corporate and private whistleblowers; and

(f) any related matters.
