Taking a light hearted forgiving viewpoint - it is still the 31st July in Houston Texas until 3pm tomorrow in Sydney...
IMO a billion dollar company should be able to report on-time regardless of any other imminent announcement, unless there is a trading halt due to some pending issue/transaction that would materially impact the financial result of the previous quarter.
Hopefully all will be revealed in the morning, historically "late news = bad news" but a nice surprise would be an excellent change.
