It's great to see something like this built in Australia. We'll finally be able to see how economic it is ( or isn't ) in a local situation .
Even though the govt is footing half the bill , I think it's probably a worth while investment in the future of electricity here.
The numbers confuse me a bit though ? Solar power seems to be about $1000/kw ( or a dollar a watt ) installed in suburbia . At 150mw , so 150,000,000 x $1 = $150 million . AGL reckons it's going to cost $450 million .
I can appreciate the remote location makes the construction costs higher but I would've thought the economies of scale might have countered that ?
