gilded, i would argue that all of those problems existed previously and their increases can't be linked to atheism.

STI'd - detection and the female pill would likely be the main factors increasing the increase in STI's over the years. Yes if everyone was Christian and didn't have sex until marriage, this would likely not be as prevalent, but I'd rather live in a free world where we have the right to choose our own actions, not be dictated by a church and state who decide what is right for us.

Binge Drinking - This is a social problem and has little to do with religion. I would be inclined to say the mass media and advertising have got us where we are. As some Arab countries have done we could have religious law that makes alcohol illegal, but again, I don't believes its religions place to decide.

Drugs - Many of the countries with the highest religion rates have the highest illegal drug use and addiction rates. See Brazil, Mexico, Afghanistan.

Broken families, porn addiction, depression etc - I don't think the church really has any right to claim they help with these areas given that paedophilia is rife through the church, they have taken youths away from their families and the massive injustices religion has caused through wars.

    Religion isnt a pretty sight.
