If I came up with a list of rules to enforce on a population to have complete control, I think it would go something like this,
I am the BOSS, your leader.
You shall have no other leader.
You are all filthy peasants so you shall not liken yourself to me or anything else associated with me.
You shall not be rude towards me or wish me harm.
You shall work six days a week and rest for the seventh (exhausted minions are of no use)
You shall do what your parents say and do as they do. (that way I will forever have a constant supply of loyal, unquestioning followers)
You shall not kill, steal, lie, commit adultery or do anything that may harm or upset your neighbour (or anything else that would cause my minions to fight and inhibit from their worship of me and the construction of my mighty domain)
