I recently bought house (old 1950's place) in Manning with the plan to knock down in a few years and build the house we want.
Decided to enquire about indicative prices of new houses. Consultant calls me tonight - all eager of course. I let him down saying we are a couple of years from building but after indicative prices.
He then tells me no point in giving price today because we are forecasting construction costs to go up 100k on the display home I am interested in, in the next couple of years.
I'm not sure which way established house prices will move in perth in next couple of years, but I have to think this sales person is feeding me a load of BS.
Having said with changes to first home buyers grant in WA and low interest rates maybe we will see upward pressure on prices.
