Good post el3ctro Lot of good points there. will add my bit. Buy for CHANGE. Buy a dump and change it into a liveable place. Buy in an area that is due for redevelopment. The information is freely available on Government and Council sites, usually years before it happens. Get it right and the capital gain sets you up for the next one. You can renovate a house but you cannot renovate a suburb, let the government do it for you.
