Labor should have been held to account; as was John Howard in 2007.

To be fair though; in weighing up the Labor legacy we should at least acknowledge Australia's AAA rating in the face of the greatest economic crisis in 80 years.

Nor should we should turn a blind eye to our expectations of Tony Abbott; he is the one who has relentlessly attacked others; he has set the bar where it's at and must now be judged by the same standards and via the same modis operandi he deployed.

Given Abbott's four years of failure to provide anything more than slogans, stunts, mantras and motherhood statements no-one should be lowering their expectations just to accommodate his lust for power. Love him or loathe him; Kevin Rudd at least has achievable plans for our longer term future.
