The former Liberal MP for Indi, Lou Lieberman, was an outstanding local member. He's still a part of our community and occasionally eats out at one of the restaurants we frequent.
Most of the people of Indi remember Lieberman very favourably and know what the benchmark for a good local MP actually looks like.
Indi is a very conservative electorate but people don't like to be played for fools, insulted and hung out to dry. They have nothing of consequence to attribute to Sophie Mirabella's 12 years and they are sick of seeing her in the news for all the wrong reasons.
This time round Mirabella's saturation advertising, public funded mailouts and wall to wall plastering of campaign posters throughout the electorate may just add to the sense of irritation people feel.
