    LOL the logic in this thread is laughable.

    First we have the notion that we are in a recession, without any facts behind it. Then is the notion that Abbott will fix it buy cutting back spending (presume health, education ect) while at the same time hitting big business with a 1.5% tax to pay for the mother of all PPL.

    No we are not in a recession, RBA would tell us if we had 2 quarters of negative growth.

    People are not spending as much because they are saving instead, disposable incomes are up thanks to all time low interest rates and people are taking advantage of that buy putting more money towards their mortgage ie saving.

    May be there are some places that are not doing so well but it's not wide spread.

    My son recently quit his job as a chef, quick look and there is heaps of jobs from which he can pick and choose.

    As for the mention of higher utility prices, CT was but a fraction of it the rest is thanks to your state government.
