"Laugh me off with my cartoons, no they are outraged. "

Not always, I'm sure you've put up one or two that got a giggle.

    and lokaull,

"Freewill enables the acquisition of new knowledge.
The Bible discourages it, and shows an example of what can happen when the Tree of Knowledge is accessed."

    Again with the lies?

It's NOT THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE, OK?

And free will isn't the issue, Adam and Eve (and you and I) always have free will (or at least the illusion of it), they could do ANYTHING they wanted to do, absolutely anything, including eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So they FREELY CHOSE to do that and then reaped the natural consequences of their CHOSEN ACTIONS. God isn't against free will, he's against stupidity and unholiness.

"Religion has also burned people at the stake for finding new conflicting knowledge."

This one has already been addressed and pretty much refuted, find a different horse to flog.

"This suggests that God is also insecure."

But your claim was the RELIGION burned people at the stake, not God. So is it God or religion or are you just perpetually confused?
