i have been to PNG several times. It has serious corruption. That wont stop rudd from handing over billions of dollars for the boat people issue over time knowing full well that a percentage of that money will be stolen. The govt will turn a blind eye to this fact, in the hope the problem goes away. I think if i were a politician handing out our tax payers money knowing some of it will be stolen...what does this make rudd? this may well turn out to be rudds slush fund moment. The difference is the shear amount of money involved. Why would a country like PNG take on this hopless task on short notice?
rudd pulls the pacific solution apart, people start to die and the costs go balastic. Then he decides to fix his own political mistake by handing over tax payers money to a corrupt govt.
