I spent all of my working life in public schools and was often dismayed by the attitudes of a small but not insignificant core of teachers and principals similar to those you mention.
The most alarming thing that I often witnessed was the unashamed influence they they had over innocent children.
Minority mindsets can be very dangerous indeed.
My second observation is perplexing indeed. This warped subset of the teaching occupation seems to actually believe that what they say and do is acceptable to the decent public!
