RamPage, I agree the Soviet invasion of Poland was almost simultaneous with the German invasion and equally ruthless. The Russians and Germans met in some villages for joint victory celebrations. The German and Russian claims to Poland are a different topic.
My point is that there is a difference between wars fought between soverign nations and one country like the USA overthrowing the leader of a foreign country to promote another. The internal activities of countries belong to its citizens.
Dott, Its not our responsibility or right to chose the leaders of other countries. The people there are best placed to weigh up the factors involved. Moslem Brotherhood/Morsi in Egypt, Assad/Al Queda in Syria.
The locals have to live with the consequences, not us.
