For starters I am not sure why we are referring to 'Chinese' in the collective. We are talking about different groups who have Chinese origins right? I therefore don't accept this 'Chinese Control' concern when we are talking about different holders. Look the reality is that there are illegal ways to value strip however in carrying them out those people / companies risk litigation or criminal proceedings. I think it is even less likely that your would see this sort of illegal activity from Chinese investors of this size. As for people complaining on HC for other companies, come on mate. You can see on the CDU thread some people complain about a lot of unusual things which to me are not a real issue (e.g. market manipulation of CDU price). It therefore doesn't hold a lot of weight if some holders in other ASX listed companies are complaining about Chinese ownership.

Don't get me wrong either, I have valued your questions on costs / finances etc and those issues factored into my purchase price. I am however very comfortable with the protections provided on asset stripping under Australian laws and today's announcement is very positive.
