    frankly - that is rubbish

the salvos should simply accept the new rules and relay that message to the people who work for them - if those people choose to leave - then who cares - because other people will be willing to take their jobs.

frankly, the best thing that australia can do, is to get rid of the car industry - and get rid of the tax payer financial support.

the high cost of production means that we do not make tv's anymore - and the same is for cars.

unbelievably , but we sell a cubic metre of dirt (iron ore) for a few hundred dollars - indeed closer to a thousand dollars per cubic metre - but in return we can buy an overseas manufactured vehicle for a few months wages.

    ps

high grade iron ore has a sg of about 6 ...ok - watso should double check - but that is the figure in his head.... mmm the sg (specific gravity) is the weight in each cubic metre (or millimeter or whatever) - so one cubic metre of high grade iron, weighs about 6 tonnes

for what it is worth, but bhp tried to "value add" to local iron - but they lost a few billion dollars, before they closed their relevant operations.

mmmm one day the iron will be depleted, as will the oil - but who cares - it may as well be the present population that use all the resources - as maybe the future populations - the end result will be the same
