the forward dividend yield A few people, including one report in the media, appear to assume that the forward dividend yield will be 7% based on 28 cents a share. Read the following from yesterday's announcement:
"Telstra canceled the third year of its A$1.5 billion annual capital return plan and will cap its dividend at 28 cents a share for the next three years. "
Cap means maximum. It might be below that, depending on cash flows.
