The latest polling on Kevin Rudd's seat I saw this morning suggested 57:43 for Rudd - he may still lose and join John Howard in the history books as a PM who lost his seat.
Such is life!
But Indi has traditionally been one of the safest Coalition seats in Australia. For Sophie Mirabella to transform it into a marginal seat represents a stunning failure.
Every time Mirabella's great big bright red lips are thrust in voters' face you can almost hear the people of Indi groan in disgust [about 20 times per day btw].
For many people the last straw wasn't her failure to deliver for Indi; it was her claims to have supported major programs in which she played absolutely no part.
As someone who had to fight to ADSL services into schools and a Trades Training Centre for the Greater Wodonga District, I can tell you that Mirabella provided not one iota of support.
Mirabella's record and credibility is now zilch!
If Mirabella is indeed dumped by voters; the major parties will have to rethink how treat voters in 'safe seats' or risk the model spreading like wildfire.
