The polls are certainly pointing to a major win for Tony Abbott & Co. but in Indi, Cathy McGowan looks like she's riding the crest of a wave.
As for that throw-away line above:
Is that because Defence spending will increase to 3%GDP from just 1.6% [ie. $1,500b x 1.4% = +$22.5b extra per year]. Just so we can buy even more expensive US weapons of death and destruction? That atop the $5.5b per year for Tony Abbott's rolled gold welfare for the wealthy PPL?
How on Earth is Abbott going to pay those bills; oh that's right when it comes to delivering we know it's all about nod-nod-wink-wink; slash-n-burn etc.
As a self-funded retiree I know Abbott's going to take some of my franking credits and put increases to the GST to a tax review paper before acting; but please explain to me just how life will improve for older Australians.
