On the negative side, class dunce award goes to Drill Torque (DTQ, 4c) after turning a previous $68,000 into a $1.9m loss. We suspect the 34 per cent sell had much – or everything to do with management’s outlook comment: “Ongoing deteriorating market conditions in the drilling industry … continue to place DrillTorque under significant financial pressure.’’
Perpetuating the theme, shares in the world’s biggest driller Boart Longyear (BLY, 47.7c) fell 11 per cent from already subdued levels after confiding the current half wasn’t looking any better.
