Maybe some posters are just so homophobic they can't even begin to contemplate equal rights for gays.
I note that Tony Abbott is certainly squirming again. He's now saying any outcome will be determined in the Party Room; behind closed doors.
In other words; Abbott is saying he won't be seen to direct the blocking of a conscience vote again; in future it'll no longer be out in the open, it's going behind closed doors where it will be laundered and sanitised as party policy.
