"Why should we automatically believe what the USA tells us in order to justify its aggression after the way we were deceived by the USA when it claimed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction?"
I have in the past referred several times to what is a very common form of fallacy.
"Ad hominem circumstantial points out that someone is in circumstances such that they are disposed to take a particular position. Ad hominem circumstantial constitutes an attack on the bias of a source. This is fallacious because a disposition to make a certain argument does not make the argument false."
The fact that Bush lied does not matter, except to the extent to prove that any person in position of authority can lie and this person of authority can well be Obama or the president of Syria. Full stop.
Imo there are two issue here, namely:
1) Who did gassed the people? and
2) Once a satisfactory answer can be given to the previous question, what should the international community do?
I confess that at this point I still don't know, but judging by what I can see you people already have the answer to both of those questions which seems to be based on this: since the US Gov have rejected gold in favour of paper money for sure that it must be the encarnation of the devil and therefore the alleged gassing must be an excuse on their part, if not a staged event, to bomb Syria.
