Hi AuCu and all,
So how should I feel as an Australian citizen ruled for the last few years by an un-elected prime minister and with a foreign policy faxed in from Washington fresh every Monday morning?
Also are the only atrocities you acknowledge committed by people with a different skin colour to the majority of the western powers. In My Lai was Charlie Company or those responsible for the Abu Ghraib atrocities acting as rouges or are they representative of the government they serve.
Because I see these as the possible types of unforeseen circumstances when interfering in the business of other countries. By the way Rumsfeld was true to his word when he promised the world would never see pictures like those on the internet of the Abu Ghraib not by stopping such atrocities but banning members of the armed forces using camera’s and mobile phones!
Bashar Hafez al-Assad has served as president since 2000 if he is half the despot you claim why wait for so long to take action. His father before him served for thirty years also. I would suggest if the west can abide by this kind of rule for 43 years why the sudden rush to action now.

By the way you wrote:
“Remember how all this began i.e. by peaceful demonstrators wanting more say in the running of their country. Certainly, many Syrians pray for a strike.”
IMHO it started for at least a couple of reasons inflation in food prices as an unforseen circumstance of Uncle Ben and the USA money printing and Russia turning off the gas pipe line valve during a particularly cold winter season in Europe.
Your quote above is beyond naive if you think Syrians of any stripe pray for a strike yes around 5% of bombs and missiles are classed as smart weapons (if there is such a thing) but there will be plenty of dumb ones that find their way to schools and hospitals.
By the way I don’t believe Syria has ever attacked any western ship unlike can be said of their neighbours. I always thought the US flag very distinctive.
Also by the way I don’t make these things up they really happened. False flag operation gone wrong I guess we will never know but lives were lost just the same!

Don’t be taken in by propaganda and even check what you read here and research things for yourself keep an open mind because bad things happen when good men stand by and do nothing.
The bands will play and the politicians will wave their boys off into action; however, the retuning caskets and wheel chairs will find a more quiet and solemn return it’s been that way for years.
The above is written to open and not lead minds in the hope that common sense will prevail and I don’t have my stomach turned when I watch my evening news.
Looks to me like the Gold price is sensing a move I am pleased it is once again above $1,400.00 but possibly for the wrong reasons I fear.
Cheers and very best regards: Andy
