"You also point out the key man risk, that the future of Lynas is tied to a single man who could leave or be hit by the proverbial bus tommorrow. Why would anyone risk investing in this if that was the case?"

Not Key man risk, Key team risk. Its the loyal followers of Eric and the team network he has set up getting his best mates to come across from Rhodia. It is because of Eric that Lynas is slowly becoming a mini version of Rhodia. It is because of Eric, that Jean Claude Steinmetz has decided to join the team and his experience of operating rare earth plants at Rhodia which will be helpful to us.

Mr Steinmetz has worked at DuPont de Nemours, General Electric and Solvay (Rhodia).

Like you see it as a key risk weakness, I see it as a key strength. This skill of REE extraction is extremely specialized outside of China and not many people know this skill or have the knowledge, can you name me a famous CEO with REE experience that can run Lynas should Eric leave? Not many mate. Can you name me a CEO that can run an Oil and Gas company should he leave? Plenty of Candidates. What about CEO for Iron? Plenty.
