If he did have a belief in god, how could his behaviour towards fellow human beings (disabled, jews, homosexuals, gypsies, blacks, poles etc etc, be rationalised and justified on any level?
I guess the only explanation was that his disease completely obsessed his mind. In saying all of this, somehow this diseased mind managed to convince a nation, including many who were religious, that the murders of the above were somehow warranted.
There were however a number of pious individuals who risked their lives to save those who were in the firing line.
