    A bit more research.

Even though the new order mining rights are an important step. The mine is far from getting approval at the planning stage.

Water right will only come with strict environmental conditions. (pg 45 shows wet lands running through mine area)
It is in South Africa’s summer rainfall region with an annual average rainfall of 711 mm per year (Figure 4-1). Rain peaks early in the season, in November, and then again in January while the winter months are characterised by
a long and very dry period. (pg37)
If you go to pg 98 on. You will see a large number of concerns.

There are wet lands around this mine and the objections raised back in 2010 have already not only reduced the number of open cut mines from 6 to 3. But have reduced the size of these 3 open cuts.
Increased the "buffer" (pg 33 .3.3.1)

There is no export coal with out a wash plant and waste water management.

The next is attracting a partner.

There are a number of economic concerns.
Firstly is the cost. Even if they start with a simple open cut operation. The table on costs on pg 30 puts the mining surface infrastructure alone at $352m.
Power supply alone is listed at $166m
    site development $12m.
    Discard and slurry $53m etc.

And that's not even the mine which is listed at $714m.

    On power. (pg12)

A temporary supply of 500 KVa will be provided by Eskom to be used in the interim
and layer as a backup for the underground fans. The main supply of 10 MVa will be
available in 2 years’ time and this will be used for the washing plant and
    underground mining operations.

That is 2 years out before 10MVa will be available to run the wash plant.

The next major issue is the export rout.

There are currently no operating railway lines currently on the mining area. Coal for
export will be transported via road to one of the following siding options where it will
be loaded onto railway trucks on the Richards Bay Railway line:
     Davel siding;
 An approved existing siding; or
 Delta siding for a provisional period until a decision can be made on one of
the above options. Delta siding will become permanent option if the above
mentioned options are deemed not viable.

Davel siding draft Envo scope here.

Again this is just a draft but would help the bottom line as the proposed mine is just 11km south of Hendrina.
But money would have to be spent to up grade the line.
Trucking to Delta (Ermelo) is approx 55km. (45min.) Would kill the economic's

Interestingly their seem to be 6 owners listed on this permit area not including CCC. (De Wittekrans 218 IS,
Groblershoek 191 IS, Groblershoop 192 IS and Israel 207 IS)

    Anvin Beleggings Trust
    De Wittekrans CC (ccc?)
    Marmic Trust
    Plaas De Wittekrans
    Landman Samuel Jacobus
    Riccor Boerdery Pty Ltd
    Voorsorg Plase Pty Ltd

This really is a must read.
    Everything is in this.

    P.S.

    You are correct Bigmac.
    Never held.
Dodge a bullet on NKP as something didn't smell right in Nov 2010.
Once I started looking. I was horrified as to what I was finding.
    Tried to warn NKP.
    Tried to warn CCC.
Saved some in KAB including the mining manager who I am still in contact with and is a wealth of information on Africa.

Unfortunately hope is the easiest thing to sell.
A little "email hope". A little pump. Some pretty "gross' figures and reason can becomes lost.

Soon in a few days. You will be bombarded with wonderful figures by a vested interest.
Please read this this Gov submitted document before that ramper goes to work. So your thoughts are based on "reason" not "hope"

    This mine is years away!
(2.3.2 Activity and implementation schedule. pg 31)

    Cheers.
