HWS, I think you miss the point. They knew it wasn't going to reach nameplate by July months ago. The thing is they never told shareholders. That is why Owenod and alibadad are pissed. These sort of delays don't come as a surprise. The karrara group would have known there were issues with the tailings system in June if not earlier because the tailings system can't cope with the 62% output that they were producing back then.

Their own announcement points out that the problem isn't recently discovered. They talk about now "having enough experience".

They don't peg a start date on the issue but I heard a rumour that might add some light. Months ago, I was chatting to a person who mentioned problems identical in nature to those mentioned in the most recent announcement. I only saw it as advanced warning of delays every long termer sees coming. The person did something with very low odds he came up with a rumour identical to the announcement months before the announcement was made and it is very unlikely that this person knew about the issue without the board knowing. It is at this point I stress The rumour was told to me before the bridging loan was agreed. Surely known problems were included in the debt deal?

It is too hard to know for sure without an investigation but two facts need to be ascertained.
    1. Why weren't we told about the issue when it was identified? Where did the communication break down or why did they with-hold the information? (I suspect it was the latter)
    2. Why wasn't it included in the debt deal?

This is why all my other stocks are in companies with honest and thorough management. It's also why they are all in the green while this sucker is in the red.

One of my assumptions like the previous posts was that the deal covered all known issues (assuredly a very long list) and if it doesn't then my investment is not as safe as I thought.

As always these are my opinions and you should treat rumours with the upmost skepticism as it is almost guaranteed that they are wrong
