asf Previously I had wondered why gay people would want to copy straight people and join a failed anachronistic institution for the term of their natural lives. However, yesterday I attended a reception/celebration of sorts for a gay couple, together for 39 years, who got married in an impromptu ceremony at San Francisco town hall on the day it was legalised. There was a video collage of pics with commentary. Very moving to see all those couples together making a very important public declaration of commitment and love. I have gradually been changing my mind about gay marriage and yesterday confirmed it. It's going to happen and I find it no use trading barbs with those opposed. The dissenters are usually old and there is no surer thing than their demise.
