While I don't disagree with some of the points raised, I think its unfortunate that the journalists seem to treat these newcomers with total sarcasm and disdain.
Many journalists are not too smart either, and hardly have the qualifications to treat people properly elected as some sort of idiot. They ambush the innocent newcomers, who at least deserve some respect until we know more about them.
Most politicians start their careers as unknowns. Maybe there is a new Chifley, Menzies, or Whitlam there somewhere?
