moondoong, the Libs promising shinny and new is not the reality of the real world. The "decrepit pit" is part of what the real world contains.

Isn't G.FAST supposed to be commercially available around 2015-16, and doesn't it have the same distance\speed issues?

The graphic shows the importance of distance from the node in relation to speed. The speed would be fantastic if we all got FTTB, but that is not reality of what the Libs are offering.

moondoong, your confusing support for the NBN as support for Labor. I couldn't give two hoots about who builds the NBN, but it should be done right first time.

Turnbull is being steered by politics, first destroy the NBN and now their alternate NBN, and within the next 12 months we should hear what they really have planned.

There is a very slim chance the Labs will increase the FTTH connections above their planned 25%, but it is unlikely considering they originally wanted it destroyed.

A major opportunity lost for Australia.
