Lots of interesting points here, and sorry to trivialise them with such a short and factually unsubstantiated reply, but I saw some figures on worldwide TV coverage of sport which went something like this: Football - 83% Motor Racing - 9% Other - 8% Obviously huge hours out of South America, Asia and Europe, but it sure puts other sports' popularity in perspective. Wish I could remember where I read it (sorry). As for the rule change argument, well, I'm happy with things as they are (call me old-fashioned). Obviously there's always room for debate and well thought out suggestions, but for God's sake lets make sure Sepp Blatter isn't included in discussions!
