I put your question to Geoff Cumming, the ADO CEO. He responded:

"We have demonstrated that Mix&Go binds to silica, latex, polystyrene, COC, COP etc and none of these surfaces have carboxylic acid groups. Any electron donating groups will do. Carbodiimide chemistry (often EDC in the context of protein coupling) can also be eliminated through the use of Mix&Go."
