i recall you mentioning that you were unable to find a lender to short lyc at one point... would that apply to OMG's graph and be around the same time that institutions would have known about the pipes issue...?

timeline:
1. pipes break
2. word gets out to institutions (maybe not via the company office, maybe a staff member let it slip at the pub...)
3. instos call in all their shorts, drive the sp south
4. quarterly (official pipes are screwed announcement)
5. instos begin to close out shorts and re-establish positions at a lower base (currently happening?)

im not real big on conspiracy, but i could see how this could have happened and could explain why it wasnt possible to find free stock to use for shorting during this period...

but as funky says: the news is in the SP, we didnt need the official announcement to know something was up... t
