MF ,
I couldn't give a continental on how people achieve their wealth . That's not the point of this discussion . Good on them . Posts such as the one from John Risk are what this thread is about . While I agree with most of his view , I don't agree with all of it . And that's fine , we just have a difference of opinion , no problem there .
The discussion is about passive investing in real estate to create wealth over the longer period .
You come along and inform us that we are all losing money ( e.g. the example with 23 ) and that the market is going to crash . Both points that have been proven to be baseless and incorrect .
Then you tell us have a superior wealth creation system that involves you working ( what , 80hrs a week ? ) and that you can do it quickly . That's nothing like passive investing . And , it sounds like you've been doing it for 13 years and yet you're still renting ? By choice of course !
You refer to yourself and Rameez as people who have created wealth much quicker than the rest of us poor saps . Actually , as Rameez has stated , he started investing when he was 22 and was able to retire at 53 . That's 31 years by my reckoning . You have previous demonstrated your difficulty with maths . Looks like it's not getting any better.
I've been passively investing in both property and the stock market for almost 19 years and I have been very fortunate to do well . At the same time I have been fully employed with holidays , sickies and super ( albeit doing shift work on a 35 hr week ). I do have a couple of mates that have done far better than me by working for themselves but they are definitely in the minority and took huge risks and absolutely worked their rings off to get there . The irony is that they both can easily retire and yet still choose to work. There's a valuable lesson right there .
Maybe there is a small business forum that you could take your discussion to . I , for one would be interested to learn more about alternative farming . Don't know how you are going to make all these quick profits out of truffle production though ? There's been a lot of people already trying for a long time.
