buddy, respectfully, I disagree.
People do not short to get the share price to go lower, any more than people buy to make it go higher. People buy shares because they think the stock is going to go up, and they will make some money.
People short shares because they think it will go down, and they will make some money.
Ascribing evil intent to shorters because they view a share in an opposite fashion to you (not you personally, buddy) is just silly and guarantees you'll never work out why the share price fluctuates, which as you (buddy) say is because of supply and demand for shares on market, rather than the small % of shorters.
If the absolute level of shorting stays at the same %, it's a zero sum game anyway.
