    Minter -

CGT makes very good points in his post he is trying to help these people so possibly they learn from the event & avoid making the same mistake next time.

The world of finance & the stock market is a brutal place it's no easy ride and anything offering the potential for large and above average return also holds the same degree of risk to the downside. You make the point that people need to invest in the companies to support them & hopefully achieve their objectives but medical research & drug trials without doubt holds the crown for both the biggest risk and biggest return. So while people support them that doesn't mean people should be dropping every last dime into them. I'll say again investment landscape is a brutal world and the only way to manage that risk is to mitigate it by spreading your investment. His referral to putting all black on the casino was very true in that if you are pooling all of your capital into one stock your money is always win or loose as is black and red in the casino.

I have sympathy for people that have been hurt by the recent collapse of share price but also hope these people have learnt something from the event. Spreading risk is really 101 for any form of investment no matter how confident you may be of any one avenue.

Finally agree with CGT as well in that anyone simply moving on to put all of their investment capital straight into another high risk stock without mitigating anything and spreading their risk is really just walking down the same path having learnt nothing.

Of course I hope if people choose a single high risk stock to move onto it brings them reward but simple logic says they are just opening up the same window, statistically it's a very bad move.
