Scouse, let's pick a hypothetical situation where a companies external supplier of raw materials with non transparent/published market pricing paid a pre-arranged commission to a "third party" each time a company order was placed - how in your wisdom would you expect that you would discover such an agreement? The answer is - assuming the all in price was still within reasonable tolerances to what could be achieved elsewere - it is virtually impossible to pick up such a fraud until someone slips up and or gets greedy. Angry for not discovering it yes, shocked yes, frustrated yes, but I don't think embarrassed comes into it. Lets be clear - we will see staff/board changes because someone has to take responsibly and it is about time the company upgraded its pharma credentials NOT because they could have reasonably been expected to discover it.
