    Hi Biggles and all,

I still stand on my prediction on Gold being $2,000.00 or above at the end of the year and I continue to put my money where my mouth is by buying gold monthly.

I do see some substantial problems with the USA these days; however, you appear to put a great deal of trust on the ability of the good folks in Washington to resolve the situation shortly. If lifting the debt ceiling and borrowing from producing countries is going to bring about full employment and happy days are here again it will look like the work of Harry Houdini !!!

I thought Australians lead the World in the optimistic “she’ll be right mate” view but you my little mate are to be congratulated for your stoic belief in US politicians bankers and the American way.

A country up to its neck in two ongoing (never ending) costly ME wars 47.7 million on food stamps 10% to 25% real unemployed and under employed 100 to 200 trillion dollars of unfunded liabilities and a government that can’t even negotiate their way out of a paper bag. No worries mate she’ll be right and don’t mention a few peasants in black pyjamas kicked their @rse sufficient to cause the end of Gold backing for their dollar and the most recent USA default on its obligations.

You show an interest in history I like history too particularly as it often repeats or at least rhymes. You mention the 1980 situation repeating, I wonder if the 1971 USA default will be repeated with a fresh debt default in 2013 or 2014. Let’s wait and see.

The last default mainly upset a few champagne drinking, brie and garlic eaters and knocked around the US dollar, this time I wonder if the current international holders of shonky US bonds will be so forgiving?

I often mention those US citizens on welfare, food stamps and unemployed and their standard of living in the land of the great and free but what of those fortunate to have a job of some sorts.

I suggest a movie that you and others could watch showing how the USA economy and way of life is being eroded from within:

Tartan DVD a Robert Greenwald Film: :Wal Mart” The high cost of low price.

Who said” I am what I am”?

Cheers and very best regards: Andy

By the way it was Popeye the sailor!
