"Have a look at the most recent top 20 holders of BHP and RIO, you will find that the top 20 hold about 60%" -------------------------/ That would be on the Australian exchange. What about London?
What about London? That's BHP Plc, an entirely different company. Gimme a break. BHP started in Broken Hill, and its worldwide HQ is in Melbourne. It is predominately Australia owned, and all the posts here saying otherwise, are just plain wrong.
Look it up for Pete's sake and report back. If you think its foreign owned, name the foreign shareholders. The shareholder information is freely available in many places. I will help you.
Try Queensland Investment company Perpetual Trustees MLC Australia HSBC Australia Australian Foundation Investment Company ARGO Investments, (this one is an old classic Australian investment company.) AMP
Your argument is really funny, because most of the receivers of capital gain and dividends from BHP are actually ordinary Australian workers. This whole argument is so devoid of reality that it is ridiculous.
