Dear vcj1925,
Your post reminds me of The Ballad of Jed Clampett.
The first verse is,
"Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin' at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.
Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea."

This is not amateur hour as much as some subtly and not so subtly infer. ENI isn't Jed Clampett trying to shoot some ducks for dinner and accidentally hitting oil! As stated by Eni Australia in the document below obviously relating to the parent company, "Eni is one of the world’s major integrated energy companies." The JV is looking for massive amounts of resource, not some laughable quantity.
Also, whilst we all would like the news yesterday that the company will soon be capitalised in the billions, we must patiently wait.
I found a fairly recent ENI Environment Plan Summary which ENI Australia prepared for drilling permit area NT/P68, 300km northwest of Darwin. Whilst a similar plan may or may not have been done for the drilling involving NEN in Vietnam it is still interesting general reading.

This coming week ought to see an announcement re Block 120 spudding.
If anyone wants a job on the Songa Mercur, it appears that there is one going for a driller...
