Totally agree brucey have been in the engineering construction industry 35 years from apprentice right through to supervisor construction manager etc.
Im am not anti safety but!!!
The safety (INDUSTRY)thats what it is now its own division/industry has grown into something that has been left unchecked.
Just about anybody can do there Cert 4 and get a piece of paper that allows them to get a job that they have had absolutely no experience in.
I have seen small companies nearly go broke through red tape and garbage because of the constraints put on them to actually be able to perform everyday menial tasks the costs associated are way out of proportion to any potential or unforseen risks to employees
I truly believe that people/workers are becoming immune now they think just because they signed a JSA/take 5 SWMS have there whitecard do countless mind numbing inductions or whatever you want to call it nothing is going to happen.
