I also wanted to add that Jo Nova pretends that we weren't producing man-made CO2 before about 1860. What a load of old cobblers!
Agriculture? That produces man-made CO2 due to deforestation. Lots of countries in Europe were deforested well before the industrial revolution, (in some cases due to boat building even) but my suspicion is that the levels of extra CO2 were low enough for the natural CO2 sinks in the biosphere to cope, unlike during and after the industrial revolution, which started in about 1760, by the way!
"The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to some time between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, improved efficiency of water power, the increasing use of steam power and the development of machine tools. It also included the change from wood and other bio-fuels to coal. It began in England and within a few decades had spread to Western Europe and the United States."
The sea level rise between 1800 and 1860 on her chart looks almost statistically insignificant, to the point where you could draw an uptrending line or even a down trending line through the shaded levels of uncertainty!
Has she even though about how long it takes an entire ice cap or glacier to start warming up by a smidgeon of a degree per decade or so before it starts to melt that little bit extra every summer? I assume there are a several years, if not decades, of inertia built into the system.
Jo Nova is so ignorant on these issues I really am surprised anyone pays one iota of attention to her.
