the first casuality of war, is the truth. from memory, this whole thing against iraq, started as a result of the twin towers disaster (ie sept 11). Bush made a lot of noises, about a link between bin laden, and saddam hussein. from my reading on the internet, saddam, is no fan of fundamentalist muslimism (?), indeed, my understanding may even suggest that he is very secular. as such, he would not be a supporter of osama bin laden. this view was confirmed by an article in the "west australian" (www. thewest.com.au), which stated
"His comments were limited to supporting the Iraqi people generally, with no specific mention of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein or his regime. Mr Saddam is regarded by international intelligence agencies as being opposed to bin Laden and his fundamentalist approach."
