Just heard that a disabled man was left alone in his home while the houses around him burnt to the ground. Must have been absolutely terrifying.
People who are vulnerable and without family nearby ought to be able to register with a group like the Salvation Army or even Centrelink, so that they can be taken to safety well before their lives are threatened.
