Without that distinction, the law can be applied to all motorcycle clubs.

That could lead to some interesting arrests. Many members of the Ulyssess club are Judges, dentists doctors, pilots and all manner of professionals.

The Ulysses club with all members over 40, is the biggest market for motorcycles in Australia. About 26000 members, many are relatively affluent. Their kids have left and they have the resources to spend. And they do. A sensible riding outfit now costs about $2000, a BMW jacket = $1000, pants, $700, gloves $80, boots $250.

The Ulysses club was started by Stephen Dearnley in about 1985, assisted by a well known motorcycle journalist. Stephen organised many charity fund raising activities, and was extremely highly respected. He died a couple of years ago in his eighties.

Common sense would hopefully dictate that the law will not touch that club, to do so would be ridiculous.

To cast aspersions on the Ulysses club would be to show that the attacker is right out of their tree.
