Just a few short weeks ago at an FMG site. Worker asked to work on an EWP (elevated work platform) he was only a young guy but he insisted on a harness ( these are mandatory in this situation)
The contractor asked him if he wanted to return to Perth or work. The young bloke stuck to his guns and eventually the boss relented.
My advice to him? Contact Worksafe immediately and absolutely refuse to work without a harness at heights.
With the best will in the world we still have moron employers. You may be shocked to know who the employer was. Worksite deaths and injuries are out of control in WA.
I wonder if Twiggy knows or even gives a damn.
