    Thanks, that is as I have always seen it myself, however sometime in the future the "shorted" shares do have to be returned and bought back irrespective of price.

    Alternatively the loan period is extended for a further term for a further loan cost.

    This is easy if the share price continues lower but costly if the share price is higher.
